Since 2015, the third largest banking group in Switzerland has been developing its own banking system based on the Avaloq Banking Suite, servicing over 11,000 users at around 900 locations in Switzerland.
With its many years of Avaloq experience, beconn AG has been accompanying the client in this undertaking since its own foundation: Whether it is the migration of banking software to Avaloq, the implementation of payment solutions, interfaces and e-banking, the development of a custom test automation framework or the refinement of credit processing and reporting - we develop customized solutions for our client.
Currently beconn AG is involved in the Financing process group, where we support the client in refining and automating their credit processes in the Avaloq Banking Suite.
A renowned British bank introduced a new e-banking application into its IT landscape. As part of the project, the existing e-banking application was migrated to a DevOps platform using a container-based architecture that matches with the bank’s agile development cycles. The connection of the new solution with the existing core banking system by Avaloq, the associated API layers as well as the security stack entailed a complex architecture, which placed high demands on the quality and consistency of the systems involved.
The performance of the systems involved played a central role in the project. beconn AG provided support in the design, set-up, execution and reporting of the corresponding automated tests. With the help of load, stress and endurance tests, we simulated various load scenarios. This enabled us to identify potential for optimization and to support the client implementing the corresponding changes. With our many years of experience in test automation, we ensured a sustainable and smooth operation of the new digital channel between the bank and its customers.
In order to be prepared for new regulatory requirements in the future, a renowned, UK-based private bank fundamentally revised the object model of its core banking system. In doing so, the bank ensured that it would continue to achieve the best economic and technological benefits when customizing its banking system.
beconn AG supported the client in updating and expanding its automation framework. During the approximately two-year project duration, we were responsible for migrating several thousand automated regression tests and synthetic test data sets to the new object model and expanding the test case pool for the new system properties. In parallel with ongoing operations, we were able to ensure seamless quality assurance of system changes related to new object model.
The Swiss “Informatikgesellschaft für Sozialversicherungen” (IGS) represents an association of social insurances and compensation funds from 20 Swiss cantons and Liechtenstein. It is responsible for the development, design and improvement of IT solutions for its members. As part of this mission, IGS has been working since 2018 to merge its existing systems into a new IT target portfolio, replacing the existing host application.
beconn AG has been supporting IGS from the project’s beginning in various tasks such as data migration, release management and the development of new IT systems.
Based on the Federal Council ordinance on measures in the event of loss of earnings related to coronavirus (COVID-19) of March 2020, the introduction of additional compensation for loss of earnings was ordered by emergency law.
As a member of the "CORONA 20" task force created for this purpose, an expert from beconn AG consulted and supported IGS extensively in the implementation of the corresponding solution.
Our client is a UK-based financial institution and one of the largest current account providers in the UK. The institution’s goal was to implement its Open Banking APIs by the end of 2019 and to strategically reposition itself in the market accordingly.
beconn AG supported the bank in implementing the necessary technical requirements for Open Banking so it could leverage the new possibilities of future customer interaction. This included the definition of business requirements as well as the development and testing of the Open Banking APIs, based on the specification published by the regulatory authorities (OBIE).
In order to open up new interaction and business opportunities with third party providers (TPPs), it was also necessary to define and set up new, standardized processes supporting the exchange of information with TPPs and the client's own customers.
We also created a set of dynamic reports, to give the management the necessary control over the new business cases at all times and enable it to intervene accordingly.
